Live One for Palliser

Noah Evanchuk (seen here getting ready to eat a freshly picked baby) has announced he will be seeking the nomination for the federal NDP in Palliser.

Young, progressive, good looking, competent... I don't know if I can handle not being disaffected anymore.

Oh, well.

Good luck, he won't win. Even if he gets the nomination, Palliser is heavily gerrymandered in favour of the rural/small town vote, i.e. Conservative, and furthermore, young, professional men in both the Liberals and NDP (with the exception of Andrew Thompson and other rock solid party strongholds, in the case of the NDP) have zero history of winning in this province and that will continue. There's a certain blandness to a young professional these days that prompts people to stay home. The Conservatives can put up a cold torso in Palliser and still win it 50%-44%-5%-1%.

Objective facts don't lie and shouldn't be taken personally or as a gauntlet thrown. That's your first lesson in how to win in politics. No one likes an excessively personal crybaby.

I must disagree. Voters in Sask swing right to left. Your numbers put the tories up 6 points from the last three go arounds in Palliser. The seat was NDP in 88, 97 and 00. Same boundaries. Evanchuk is perfect. He will bring back to the NDP the anti-ottawa vote from the tories - who have done nothing except be liberals by handing the banks 50 billion and dropping the ball in the war in afghanistan and giving us a giant deficit to boot. The tories have failed the people of palliser on the gun registry and many other issues. Noah will get the nomination and the seat and give the people of SW regina, moose jaw and points in between the representative they want - no toadie to the banks and oil companies like the liberals have and the tories have become!
